Know Japanese? Can you help translate the names of my two children?

Ok, I probably don’t have enough readers for this to really get a response (sad when you realise that even in a public place like the Net you can still be talking to yourself!) but here goes:

There is no secret to it, I have two kids. One 10 year old girl and one 5 year old boy. I am a very proud parent and I love them without reservation, but I am also a *BIG* Japanese fan. So I have always wondered what their names would be like in Japanese (or even if their names can be translated).

So can anyone out there help?

My girl’s name is: Tianna
My boy’s name is: Ayden

Would phontic spelling help? Let me know…

I was in a road vehicle accident in Melbourne on 4 October 2006. It was nasty but I survived, though I still have a number of permanent or ongoing issues including flashbacks, high blood pressure and more. I also found out some new issues while learning how to surf!

Yes I survived but my quality of life has been reduced. It has impacted my relationships, affected my health and continues to plague my mind.

But what really gets to me is this article: “Ombudsman lays into Alfred Hospital surgeon Thomas Kossmann”. If this link no longer works, I have a PDF of it available.

It has been alleged that Thomas Kossman “failed to act with integrity and placed his private interests ahead of his public duty”. Other allegations have also been made.

Thomas Kossman was in charge of my care.

Did I have the right care? How can I ever be sure? The Alfred and the TAC have a lot to answer for!

2008. A new year. What’s the big deal? Around me people are all talking about new year resolutions, putting the past behind them and discussing the big (or in my case lack of) NYE party that they had.

I see no point in any of it.

Why wait until 1 January to start something new? Why do people look for a symbol and not find inspiration inside of themselves? Why do people feel that they must celebrate NYE in some sort of alcohol induced haze?

I think:

Your future is not defined by the way you partied on 31 December.

You should not wait until 1 January to begin something new.

You need to find your own inspiration and not rely on a symbol or other external psychological inspiration.

Be yourself, enjoy your life.

Change of topic

I have decided to append a few lines to each of my posts, “travel destination”, “mood”, ”sound”. It’s meant to be a snapshot of how I am feeling at the time of my post. So here goes…

Mood: pensive
Sound: Grandaddy
Travel destination: Japan

Ok, enough for now. I will be back with some photos I took over the Christmas break and some more technology posts.
